Whats in these printable worksheets for kids?

In the ten task sheets, there are eight lines with number sequences that have some numbers missing. The child must fill in the missing numbers and indicate what type of sequence it is. Increasing? Decreasing? Or perhaps cyclical?
To make it easier for parents and teachers to compare the child’s answers with the correct ones, the correct answers are given at the end of the exercise sheets.
Sometimes there may be multiple correct answers for the number sequences.
Therefore, if the given sequence doesn’t match the one in the answer sheet, pay attention to the child’s response — their solution might also be a correct continuation of the sequence.

Read books to children?
Read books to children!!!
We read one chapter from a book before going to bed. Right now, we are finishing “Winnie the Pooh and His Friends”. We have watched all the cartoons about Winnie the Pooh, both the Soviet and Walt Disney versions, and will soon finish the book. And most likely after that we will watch the cartoons again.
We have already read such childhood hits as “Karlsson-on-the-Roof”, “The Little Witch “, “The Little Dragon Coconut”. What are you reading? What recommendations?

Why read books?

In everyday life, we use a relatively limited vocabulary. In one family, there are some expressions, in another family, there are other expressions, but everyday life does not require a very wide vocabulary.

Reading books is a way to expand your own and your children’s vocabulary, diversifying it. I myself did not read books as a child and now reading books is not in my top 10, but I listen to audio books when I drive or when I cook. So in the evenings I show an example and read a book to the children.

Sometimes we do it so that each of the children reads a sentence and then I continue until the end of the chapter.

If an unfamiliar word or expression appears in the text, the children themselves ask to explain what it means and how it can be used.

A story from life – while reading the adventures of Winnie the Pooh, the text contained the expression “to rack your brains”. This expression was used in conversation the very next day.

Where to get books?

If there are no books in the library itself, or there are no books appropriate for the child’s age, then the best way is to go to the public, local library and choose reading material together with the child.

Sometimes the book that you want to read to your children is not available in the library. Therefore, we enlisted the help of the world wide web and found both books on the website betterworldbooks.com.
In addition, in libraries, no matter which one, it is also possible to borrow DVD films and cartoons in your native language. We also use this, although it seems that we have practically exhausted this resource. If we ever buy a cartoon/film in Latvian ourselves (our native language), then after a while we also donate it to the local library – What is given returns to the giver. But the DVD era is closing to the end.

E-books

Once it was necessary to recall the events of the first chapter of “The Little Witch” in order to be able to ask questions about the events in this chapter, but we had already returned the book to the library.
We decided to search the Internet to find out if there were any e-books available.
He who seeks, finds. We found this great e-book resource, where books are scanned and available in Latvian for free. That`s no good for you, as you read this article in English. But probably there much more resources available for English readers.
To read e-books, you need a device and an application on which to open the downloaded e-books.
And, in this regard, nowadays there should be no problems, everyone has a potential device in their pocket with which to open e-books – a smartphone.
We ourselves use the Libera reader application, but this is certainly not the only application that can open digital books. Some of the e-books are also available in pdf format. which should be possible to open without any additional application. But we are satisfied with Libera reader and we like that the application is not overly intrusive with ads and the ability to increase or decrease the font is very useful.

We have created educational materials for home-based education that develop a child’s reading and writing skills, as well as logical thinking. There are 10 printable children’s worksheets, each containing 6 examples, where letters need to be arranged in the correct order to form a word. The illustration provides a hint that the word is jumbled.

Who are these printable educational materials intended for?

The printable tasks for children are suitable for preschool-age children, as well as those who have just started their school journey – six-year-olds, seven-year-olds, but depending on the child’s readiness, even five-year-olds or younger children can do them.

Parents should explain in advance if there is any illustration the child doesn’t understand or if they don’t know the word itself. This way, the child also expands their vocabulary.

By completing the tasks, the child learns to recognize letters, learn to read, and learn to write letters. It also trains logical thinking, as each task is like a little puzzle.

The digital collection can be used as a teaching material at home, in kindergartens, other preschool educational institutions, schools, as well as in Montessori education.

What is in these printable worksheets?

An excellent addition to the preschool collection of activities. The set of tasks includes 10 worksheets with 6 examples on each page. The child needs to arrange the letters in the correct order to form a word. Next to the word, there is an illustration to make it easier to guess the word and arrange the letters in the correct order.

Is the writing task too easy for a preschool-aged child?

The child finds these tasks boring. Maybe it’s worth trying tasks with missing letter

Let’s step back and give simpler tasks. Overly complicated tasks can discourage the desire to learn. From time to time, the child needs to be given something easier, so they understand that they can handle the tasks quite well. You can let the child choose for themselves, either several pages with easy tasks or one worksheet with more challenging ones.

If you feel that this task is too difficult for the child, let’s provide easier worksheets for reading skills. For example, worksheets with missing letters, where one letter from the word is missing.

We had created learning materials for home use with missing letters, but now they have become too easy, for us at-least. We need slightly more challenging tasks to develop children’s thinking.

Unlike missing letters, in these digital resources, several letters are lost in each word, not just one.

These tasks help children learn to read and write. These printable worksheets should definitely be in your preschool activity arsenal.

These printable free educational worksheets contain a list of words with illustrations and missing letters. Perhaps some words will be unfamiliar to children, but this can be seen as an additional benefit – the child will learn new words.

What kind of tasks are in the worksheets?

The printable task sheets consist of 10 pages, and each page has 11 examples. Each example consists of a small illustration and a word with several missing letters. The child needs to fill in the missing letters. As an additional task, they can be asked to drag and drop all the letters. This way, the child learns the alphabet, practices drawing, and writing printed letters.

For instance, at home, we give the older child the task of finding the letters, and then the younger one redraws them, training their hand with letter and line drawing. Two tasks with one worksheet. 😉

Who are these worksheets and tasks intended for?

The learning materials are designed for preschool-aged children – six-year-olds, five-year-olds, or even four-year-olds. It’s quite individual, and the child’s parents will definitely know if the task is challenging enough for the child to develop new skills. Practical activities in the task sheets can be useful for preschool educational institutions, kindergartens, as well as in Montessori education.

Parents should definitely take a look to see if the child understands what needs to be done, and maybe offer a little help at first. Encourage the child not to be afraid to ask if any illustration or icon is not clear.

What type of tasks are in worksheets?

Printable worksheets for kids is consisting of 10 pages, each of them has 11 examples. Each and every example is accommodated with icon and name of that element, that can be seen in illustration. An each word is missing some letter.
As additional task you can give as a task to overwrite all letters, so kid would train line/letter drawing. This way kids are learning reading, writing and also drawing.

For example, at our home we are giving to fill the missing letters to older of child. And after that will give to the youngest kid to redraw the letters.

Who should do these exercises?

Worksheets for children with lost letters are for preschool kids – six, five or even four years old children, but that really depends on each kid individually.
The tasks should not be to hard and neither to easy, parents should monitor if kids understands whats needs to be done. Also encourage children to ask question if some of the illustrations are not clear, or maybe the word is not known.
The tasks should be a bit challenging for the kid so children would learn new skills.

When you see that children does not have any difficulties to do the worksheets, then have to search for next challenge, but from time to time should repeat this tasks.

If tasks are to hard?

If these tasks are to hard, then good idea is to do something easier. For example, just draw the letters. Or tasks where words needs to be connected by syllables. Or maybe, tasks where illustration needs to be connected with correct word.
We dont have any of these tasks yet, but we are working on such tasks. So subscribe to our newsletter to get the info about the newly added worksheets.
And maybe you have ideas for some other worksheets, please contact us, and we will add the ideas to our backlog. To make us work faster, you can support us in various ways, any support is highly valued.

If tasks are to easy?

If tasks are to easy for you kid, you could work these worksheets from time to time, just for training or allow to children them selves decide what task they can do so give your children options. At the moment we don’t have anything particular to offer, but here is some ideas – more than just one letter is missing, children needs to write full word for the illustration (you can use same worksheets just cut off the illustrations.
